Don't waste your time looking over your shoulder
Those loves from the past ain't getting no closer
When I look in my future you're all I can see
Don't go loving on nobody but me.
At six pm, Albus was ready to head home. His home was a small room he rented at the leaky cauldron. He had moved out of his parents house a few months after he finished hogwarts. He just didn't want to live at home anymore. He wanted to prove that he could make it on his own and he could be independent. He could afford a bigger apartment, but he didn't see much of a reason to get one. It was just him and he didn't need anymore than one room. Leaky Cauldron wasn't that bad a place. Albus could go down and have a drink anytime that he felt like it, as long as the bar was opened, that is.
He was sitting at his desk at the moment, a half eaten sandwich in front of him and reading, for the umpteenth time, that day's copy of the Daily Prophet. As of late, he'd been reading that more and more. That was probably because of Isabella Wood. No, not probably. Albus knew that it was. If Izzy didn't write for them, he probably wouldn't read it as much. He wouldn't read it at all. During his school days, he never read it, could really care less about what was going on in the world. Sure, he was an auror now and had to keep an eye out on something's, but it still wasn't that interesting. It was all because of Izzy...
He put the paper down, leaned back in his chair and put his feet on his desk, avoiding kicking the sandwich. He began thinking about his life now and how different it was than what he thought it would be back when he was a kid. Back then, it was all about having fun. He never paid much attention in classes and pulled quite a few pranks. He'd had his share of detention. He never thought that he would work so hard when he got older and now, there wasn't a whole lot of time to have fun. Albus may have grown up a bit, but he was still that fun loving kid from school. He would always have that kid in him. Work could wait. He had to go and have fun. Besides, he wasn't doing much anyways that day, mostly just sitting there.
He stayed for another two hours, though, and left at eight. That was about two hours from when he usually got off. He didn't think anybody would care. Albus locked his office door and headed out of the Ministry. When he was out in the streets of London, he walked west to a pretty secluded area and caught the knight bus to the Leaky Cauldron. That wasn't his favorite way to travel, but he still wasn't that great at apparating. Albus didn't want to risk splinching himself. That would be a rather unpleasant feeling.
He finally made it to the leaky cauldron and ordered a firewhiskey and sat at one of the empty tables, thinking about Izzy.
