AND ALL YOU KNOW ,
AND ALL YOU KNOW ,
and how you speak
------------------------------------------------------------
- His personal space. Scorpius is annoyed by nothing more than he is by people being in his space when he wants to be left alone.
- High Society. Scorpius comes from this background. He likes the environment and tries very hard only to associate with people of the same social stature.
- Having a few close friends, and a lot of acquaintances. Scorpius likes his inner circle tight. But having lots of people who think they're your friend is very useful.
- Quidditch. Nothing is more liberating. When he's flying, Scorpius can actually let go of all his frustrations as opposed to on the ground when he obsesses over them.
- Being well liked. He doesn't actually like many people, but he likes when people like him.
- Proving people wrong. It's probably because of his rebellious streak, but Scorpius likes saying "I told you so". He likes doing things when people think he can't just to prove to them that he can.
- Puzzles, and mind games. Not jigsaw puzzles, but like riddles. He likes figuring them out and trying to make other people figure them out. And he's become very good at them.
- Night time. Especially when it's storming. It's more peaceful and relaxing. And the temperatures are usually more bearable...at least during the summer.
- Pencils. He doesn't know why wizards don't just accept that muggles do a few things better. Quills are just so tedious, they have to be dipped in ink every few words. It's bloody annoying. So when he can get away with it, Scorpius prefers to use a pencil.
- Anonymity. Scorpius is sort of a high profile individual. His family is famously associated with the dark arts and Scorpius has made a name for himself. People recognize him on the street, and it has gotten a bit old for the Malfoy heir. When he can go somewhere without being noticed, it's quite enjoyable.
CHARACTER DISLIKES:
- Hyper people. If they can't sit still for a conversation, Scorpius doesn't waste his time on them.
- People who assume they know everything about him from a glance. If they are that shallow, they don't deserve to get to know him. And sadly, his surname's reputation grants him a lot of judgments.
- People who expect him to think they're something special. Scorpius is very cynical. He is of the general belief that most people aren't worth his time.
- Silence. It irks him. He'll at least always have music on if he's alone. He likes when people are talking around him most though because it's like a dull chatter and he can listen in if he gets bored.
- Overly clean houses. It is the only thing he hates about his house. It's ridiculous how clean Astoria kept Malfoy Mansion when Scorpius was growing up. Everything felt sterile and un-lived in. By contrast, Scorpius' room looked like a pig sty even though it was still relatively tidy.
- Anything that obstructs his vision. Scorpius has nearly perfect vision. It's better than 20/20 and he's used to seeing everything in perfect clarity so anything that prohibits him from doing so (fog, bright sunlight, allergies), is frustrating.
- Repeating himself. He's just not patient enough for it. His words are deliberate and if people don't realize that they should listen when he speaks then they are more than likely not worth his time.
- Die hard supporters of either side. Scorpius himself is loyal to the rebels, but he still doesn't just go along blindly with everything the group believes. He finds people who do to be very closed minded. Both sides have valid points and siding with only one is naive and simpleminded.
- Being told what to do. Scorpius does not handle authority figures very well.
- Giving in to his impulses. Scorpius doesn't like when he neglects to think things through. He's impulsive by nature and has trained himself not to be, but sometimes it slips through.
GOALS:
- Make his mark. Scorpius wants to remembered not as a Malfoy, but as an individual. He loves that his family name has earned him a certain amount of grandeur, but this was given to him, not earned. He would rather be remembered as an extremely powerful wizard than just another Malfoy.
- Eventually Scorpius wants to start a family...eventually.
- Eventually he also wants to leave England. He doesn't know where he'll go, probably somewhere near the ocean. But Scorpius has had his fill of London.
BOGGART: Distorted bodies. Scorpius is most afraid of humanoid beings that open their mouths impossibly wide. Especially when they are complimented by teeth that might be a little too large, as in, just large enough so that one must question whether they are too large, or whether they are just a little larger than normal. But he dislikes the distortion of any body part. Long fingers, spindly legs, massive eyes...it all weirds him out. His boggart is a combination of these things. But the most pronounced among it's features is the mouth, which starts out normal, but stretches to an inhuman gaping hole, while still looking as if the jaw joint is realistic. He also fears inferi, but since the distorted bodies thing trumps that one, his boggart prefers to terrify him with the former.
PATRONUS: Scorpius' best memory is of going to his first Quidditch match with is father. The Falcons were playing the Ballycastle Bats && positively crushed them. It was a relatively short match, but seeing the players zip around the pitch so fast put Scorpius in awe. He knew that it was what he wanted to do.
DEMENTOR: Having to turn down the Tornadoes offer to play for them. Since he was a child Scorpius had wanted to play professional quidditch, and having to give up on that dream was abnormally painful.
AMORENTIA: Peppermint, Ocean air, Pancakes.

MOTHER: Astoria Malfoy (`nee Greengrass)
SIBLING(S): -n/a-
OTHER: Lucius Malfoy - Grandfather, Narcissa Malfoy - Grandmother, Various other pureblood witches & wizards. They've all married each other at some point.
BLOOD STATUS: Pure.
BIOGRAPHY: Scorpius Malfoy has always been privileged, for lack of a better word. His family has money, and dispite what people who claim to be of "strong moral fiber" might say, being rich does make some people happy. Not universally happy of course, but it certainly helps. And when most of the world takes offense to your existence, having money allows one to buy whatever they please to pass the time. This was the world into which Scorpius was born. His family, while quite able to get by without having to bother with many people, was generally disliked by most of the witches and wizards who had experienced the war. Those who had been for the Death Eaters, (the ones that didn't get chucked into Azkaban), were disgusted by Lucius & Narcissa's betrayal in the last hours of the war and those who had supported the Order were not won over. When Scorpius Malfoy was born, eight years after the fall of Lord Voldemort, it was into a family that had grown accustomed to keeping to themselves. Or rather, keeping their business to themselves. His father, Draco, worked in the ministry. Being in the public eye was somewhat unavoidable. But for the most part the Malfoy family tried, (unsuccessfully) to be low key.
In spite of this necessity for remaining under the radar, Scorpius' childhood was happy. Though Draco & Astoria didn't associate with many people, the need to regulate the circles in which they ran payed off. Astoria had become high society's mysterious socialite. People didn't know much about her, but they wanted to. What this meant for her son was that his friends were basically chosen for him. They were from "respectable" familes. Ones that like the Malfoys, knew how to keep their mouths shut. So there weren't many of them, but Scorpius was fine with that. It afforded him the ability to earn a bit of his mother's mystique. And even as a child Scorpius recognized that exclusivity was a way of improving his image. He was an uncharacteristically intelligent child, and became very good at using this to his advantage. He began to understand people, and their motives, at a very young age, and was able to realize that if he knew that, controlling them was easy.He also understood subtlty. Most of his childhood was spent testing his own, and other people's boundaries. Even the people he called his friends, Scoripius would test them. He found that pulling the strings, as opposed to being a puppet in the spotlight, benefitted him much more.
He did the regular kid things too though. When he was seven, his father bought Scorpius his first broom. It wasn't professional grade or anything, but it did get him about fifteen feet in the air, and went decently fast. Scorpius loved it. Flying quickly became his life. He'd be out in the back yard zipping around below the high hedgeline, chasing birds and animals. He made up his own little quidditch pitch, carving the hoops into the shrubberies. Astoria and the family's gardener weren't very happy about that, but every time his holes were magically regrown, Scorpius would just dig them out again so eventually Astoria just gave up. Scorp's love for quidditch grew when Draco began taking him to actual matches. Every chance they got Draco & Scorpius would go to Falmouth to watch the Falcons.
By the time Scorpius got his Hogwarts letter he'd come into his own. He arrived at the platform with a skeptical eye at his future classmates. Astoria had warned him that the secretive nature she'd instilled in him as a child was equally, if not more important for him to maintain at Hogwarts. Scorpius understood why his mother was saying this, but also realized that if he had one chance to crack out of his shell for once just to see what it was like, Hogwarts was the place to do it. He was young, and even though he knew puppetmaster was a better roll to play than having strings tied to your limbs, he wanted to know what it was like. At Hogwarts, Scorpius' first years were played anything but low key. He was sorted into Slytherin almost instantly, and quickly made his mark. Many of his housemates were skeptical of the Malfoy. His family had afterall abandoned the Dark Lord at the most pivitol point. But Scorpius managed to prove rather quickly that it was not out of weakness, but strength that his grandfather sacrificed winning the war. And after he had won over his skeptics, Scorpius' popularity skyrocketed. He still had his friends from childhood, most of whom were sorted into Slytherin with him, but Scorpius found that making new friends was surprisingly easy for him. In his third year he made the quidditch team, playing seeker as his father had. In his fourth they won the cup. But quidditch wasn't the only thing Scorpius was throwing himself into. By his sixth year, Scorpius was at the center of a group that began calling themselves the Rebels. They had radical viewpoints, similar to those of the old Death Eaters, but at the time, they were in the closet. It was like a club. They would get together and talk about what they wanted to do, and how they could improve the wizarding community by wiping out impurities.
By the time Scorpius graduated, he'd mellowed a bit. His thirst for the spotlight had been relatively quenched, and while all the trouble he'd gotten himself into had been just the thing he needed at the time, he was beginning to realize that playing it under the radar was a better way of doing things. It was for this reason that he turned down an offer from the Tutshill Tornadoes to be recruited as their starting seeker, even though playing quidditch professionally was something he'd dreamed of for years. But Scorpius had bigger plans. The Rebels, now that they were out of school, were beginning to get serious, and Scorpius, who had always played a lead role, was getting far to involved them to have time for much else. He spent the first two years after graduation travelling and scouting. They had a decent following, but if they wanted to make a real dent in things and actually inspire change, the Rebels were going to need a lot more support. When he returned to England in 2027 it was with a much stronger "social network". Scorpius took a cover job within the ministry, training as an Obliviator, but soon that too became much too demanding and started cutting into his time with the Rebels, so he quit, and began devoting the entirety of his time to their cause. Since money was not an issue, having minimal income was not a problem.

A slim figure shifted positions and pulled a tattered and grungy pillow closer to his chest in his sleep. It was a tight squeeze, being pressed in between two wooden walls, far enough apart only for the feet of spectators, but he'd gotten used to it by now. Scorpius had been coming up to the Quidditch stands to sleep since his second year. It was often the only place he could get a little privacy being that he lived in a dorm with several other boys. He of course had been much smaller then, and had been forced to bring a pillow and a blanket with him because he had been too young to conjure them; by now he could make a nice little niche for himself, filling it will pillows and blankets so that he barely felt the hard unforgiving wood. And he'd figured out which one to inhabit so that the sun didn't bake him in the morning when it rose. He didn't come all the time, but on the weekends when he knew he didn't have to get up for anything it was quite pleasant to get out of the dormitory.
The slytherin rolled over again. Even unconscious his body was beginning to resent the combination of mounds of blankets and uncharacteristic morning heat. But it wasn't enough to wake him yet. Back in the castle, people would be getting up to head down to breakfast as Scorpius snoozed, quite unnoticed, in his alcove. Over the years he'd been discovered there by a few people, who he'd promptly threatened into keeping quiet about it. And his closest friends knew that he sometimes snuck out to the pitch to sleep, but most people wouldn't have even know that he wasn't sleeping in his own bed. The stands were nearly 50 feet tall, and he had buried himself in the lowest line of benches. Unless someone was literally standing on the benches above him, they would never know he was there. It kept him safe from the regular dangers of wandering the grounds at night, and teachers wishing to persecute him for being out after hours.
Finally, after a few more minutes, Scorpius couldn't stand the heat. His eyes blinked open as he realized his skin was moist with sweat. Groggily he kicked off the blankets and stretched his hands above his head. It was proof of how much he'd grown over the summer that he could now almost reach from one side to the other if he stretched out his body enough. He pressed his hands over his eyes, blinking away the bright light and with a thud that meant his knee had made painfully hard contact with the wood, Scorpius pulled himself onto the bench, yawning widely. A quick glance around the pitch told him that he was alone. It didn't surprise him. The sun was barely over the tops of the trees of the forbidden forest far off in the distance. It was probably not even 9 yet and on a Saturday very few people would be willing to lug themselves out of their beds. Lazily Scorpius dug around for his wand. Even if no one was around he didn't want to chance it. Someone finding all of his bed things up here would either get him in trouble or inspire other people to steal his idea. Being that this was pretty much the only place he could get privacy anyway, that was not something he wanted. Finally his fingers closed around the smooth, thin wand and he swished it lazily, watching as the fluffy feather-filled masses and cottons vanished leaving behind only a few stray downies that floated off in the morning breeze. He shook his head and yawned again, picking up his broom. Another benefit to sleeping at the pitch: he didn't have to walk there when he wanted a morning fly. Without a second glance, Scorpius jumped out of the stands, free falling for almost thirty feet before he scooped his broom beneath him and zipped off around the pitch. Nothing felt more amazing than the crisp morning wind against his face.
